Guides for My Walks

Guides for my walks
Toms River, NJ

I will be using various guides for my walks. I’ll refer to both state and local guides to plan and navigate my walks. For example, I will probably refer to njspots.com or americawalks.org, among several others, for information on great walks. I live in the MidAtlantic region of the United States, so, for the time being, that’s where my walks will be concentrated.

Generally, I will focus on trail walks through natural areas. But I will also do some small-town walks and visit interesting sites.

As an example, the photo above is of the Toms River in the area of Toms River, New Jersey. There are a few ways to access the river for walking—Island Heights, where this photo was taken, has a lovely boardwalk to take in the scenery.  There, you can stroll or complete your exercise walking. The river can also be accessed from Toms River itself as well as a small park on Atlantic City Boulevard in Beachwood, New Jersey. Plus, it can be accessed from Pine Beach (which looks across the river to Island Heights), Bayville or Ocean Gate.

In future posts, I’ll get into more specifics about each walk.

So, come on along. I invite you to come along with me as I travel around to find fabulous, scenic walks.
